Now being part of the history of Blakely Georgia, W. L. Moseley Livestock opened in 1940 by William Lewis Moseley. After school, His son John F. Moseley, Sr.served in the U.S. Marine Corps and returned home to help in the family business. In later years, John F. Moseley, Sr. purchased the business from his father and with help from his 3 sons and 1 daughter, he ran the business for many years. In 2004, His son in law and daughter, Mike and Meredith Whitehead, took over the business. With the help of John, Sr. and the rest of the crew, they plan on running this business for many years to come.   

Our weekly cattle sales begin at 1:30PM EST on Tuesdays. We have buyers representing over 15 - 20 order buying companies. Customer cliental represents much of southwest Georgia, northwest Florida, and southeast Alabama. Cattle are generally sold individually through the ring unless if coming from one producer, may be grouped and sold according to weight, sex and color. We also offer board sales of cattle that have been filmed and put on internet. These sales are held on Tuesdays at 3:00PM EST through phone conference calls. As many as 15 - 18 cattle buyers are on the phone lines as well as our active buyers that are at the weekly sale. The buyers on the conference call are from AL, FL, GA, IL, IN, IO, KS, KY, MS, NC, NE, OH, OK, SC, TN, & TX. These are usually load lot cattle that remain on the producers land until picked up.
